Diagnostic Hysteroscopy in Florida

Women’s Care Florida offers diagnostic hysteroscopy for patients as an in-office procedure to women.

What is Diagnostic Hysteroscopy?

Diagnostic hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that diagnoses several problems of the uterus, including fibroids or polyps. It allows our physicians to accurately examine the uterus to determine the need for further treatment. Our providers perform this procedure in-office for patients to have convenient access to our exceptional care.

Are You a Candidate for Diagnostic Hysteroscopy?

Many women experience abnormal bleeding at one point in their lives. Evaluation of the uterus is an important part of the process. A hysteroscopy diagnoses the following conditions:

  • Abnormal menstrual bleeding
  • Adhesions in the uterus
  • Endometrial cancer
  • Uterine Fibroids
  • Uterine Polyps

What to Expect During a Hysteroscopy

Diagnostic hysteroscopy usually does not require anesthesia but is up to the discretion of your provider. During the procedure, a small camera (hysteroscope) is inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterine cavity. Abnormal tissue is removed with the camera directly or with curettes. The tissue is then sent for evaluation to check for the presence of any cancer or precancer.
