Hammer, Lauren, APRN

Lauren Hammer is a licensed and certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner who has enjoyed a diverse career providing care and education for women of all ages and stages of life. She is also certified in inpatient obstetrics and has assisted and empowered women during labor and birth for over 29 years. During this time, she has been a recipient of the Clinical Excellence Award, Divisional Nurse of the Year and Patient Satisfaction Recognition Award. She has taught childbirth education courses, is a member of the Normal Labor Task Force and has a special interest in reducing the cesarean rate for first time mothers-to-be. Lauren has been a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses for most of her career.

Lauren obtained her BSN and Master’s in Nursing Education from the University of South Florida and received a Post-Master’s Degree in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama. She has enjoyed teaching nursing, both in academia and inpatient obstetric nursing. Lauren is passionate about education and embraces teaching moments prenatally, encouraging mothers to educate themselves to positively affect their pregnancy and future health of their newborns and families. She also enjoys providing evidence-based gynecological care, meeting the unique needs of women throughout their life span, from well-woman care to hormone replacement therapy and screening for gynecological associated hereditary cancers.

When Lauren is not caring for her patients, she can be found enjoying the company of her husband and adventurous two sons boating, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding and mountain biking and any other outdoor activity her boys convince her to try!
