Lindsey, Kim, APRN
I, like many here in Florida, am not a native! I am a transplant from the Windy City, also known as Chicago, Illinois! I came here to be able to see that beautiful yellow orb in the sky more days than not, and to avoid that fluffy white stuff on the ground that we see too often in the North! Chicago has been home for most of my life and career, after returning to school as an adult for my BSN and MSN with a Certification in Nurse Midwifery from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
I had a short stint in private practice prior to joining the midwifery group at UIC where we care for women from all sectors of life. I provide full scope midwifery, including annual exams from menses through menopause, low to moderate risk pregnancy and delivery, birth control including IUD’s and infection exams. While in Chicago, I tended to care for the younger pregnant population and enjoy all the teaching that needs to be instilled!
I have three adult children living all over the United States. I enjoy travelling, not only to see them, but also to all the amazing countries of the world. My goal is to travel to every continent and enjoy the diversity of the people and the lands. I still need to travel to Australia and Antarctica to complete my dream… I would also like to partake in more medical missions to areas of need. In the summer of 2014, I spent a week in Cochabamba, Bolivia helping the indigenous women with gynecologic problems. It was an amazing, empowering and enlightening experience that compels me to want to do more.
